Globally, cities are being wired-up to meet urban challenges in order to create economic competitiveness. Like most countries around the world, Malaysia has also unveiled its Smart City Framework in 2019, outlined the policy for smart cities and the strategy and implementation plan.
Confexhub, in partnership with the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) is releasing the Malaysia Smart City Outlook 2021-2022 (MSCO 2021-2022) themed “Embracing Technology Towards Enhancing Smart Cities and Communities” to provide a comprehensive picture of the advancement in technologies that are key to the success of smart cities, highlighting the priority areas for development. The outlook also provides a series of global case studies and suggested potential action plans as reference for adoption.
The Outlook demonstrated that smart cities promises new source of economic growth, provides motivation to city authorities to embrace technologies into urban planning and operations, whilst attracting the relevant technology players to participate in the many economic opportunities ahead.
